Most of my leads come from my fully wrapped Honda Element.

I know when my car is in my drive way I am not marketing. So, I get out as much as I can, but I also know just being out there is not efficient enough for me.

Because I want my customers to come to me I am really big on branding and positioning. Of course that requires a lot of strategical thinking and leg work at the start, but in my experience pays handsomely later.
I thought it might be helpful to other newcomers (like myself) to share my set up.
PARKING

Because you’re using your car as a marketing tool, you want to pay extra attention to where you park.

This is a new-mixed used development where average income is high. I am parked in front of an upscale Asian restaurant, my roof is wrapped so anyone on the second floor (or higher) will see my number when they look out of their window.

I want to be a natural inclusion in their lives. I want them to know Sit Means Sit ::::: from somewhere:::: but also ::::see it everywhere:::::::

I work my dog a lot like Stella (Anthony from DEN)

Seven will stay in the back of the car until I call him out. usually the lower door is closed, but I wanted to show you how things are set up.

Click on the picture to see notes. Use your browsers back button to return

Although when I bought it I didn’t know I was going to be dog trainer buying an Element proved to be a good move.

Having the divider between where the dog(s) are and me provides extra room to have all the things I may need.

This way if I see an opportunity as in the case where these photos were taken. I can pull over and do variety of things to match my prospective clients ( Match as in NLP)

I got Seven in Denver and he’s having hard time with the Southern heat and humidity. So when I have Seven in the car, even while waiting for me to call him out ( as in the back door is open) I have my AC in full blast.

This is a good practice when you have human employees also.

Treat your employees the way you want them to treat your customers.

Last but not least… GPS

As well as being a great tool to know where you going, it’s also a great tool to lock-in a location.

What I mean is: If I am in a new neighborhood (as in this one) and on Wednesday 7 pm I see a lot of foot traffic . I save this location in my GPS favorites as Wednesday 7pm.

So If I have an appointment canceled or I am free on a future Wednesday 7pm, I can look at my GPS and get there. I also mark (the same way) where I see lots of people with dogs.

I hope this helps.
